Abstract Beaumont Independent School District (BISD) originated in 1883 with Beaumont High School. By 1948, the district had absorbed French High School and established a high school for black students, Charlton-Pollard High School. Abstract Janice Zahn was born in 1936 to Henry and Myrtle Zahn, who were the owners of the South Park Jewlery Store. She was a student at South Park High School and graduated in 1954. Afterwards, she went on to attend Lamar Tech and graduated in 1958. While in school, she was a junior member of the American Red Cross. She also attended Washington Boulevard Christian Church. Abstract This collection contains South Park High School football programs, as well as several issues of the Greenie Gusher newsletter from the late 1940s. The newsletter printed issues from the early 1930s until, at least, the late 1970s. South Park High School was founded in the late 1890s and expanded with the 1901 oil boom. Abstract Marylyn Duhon Munsterman (1923-2016) was born in Beaumont, Texas in 1923 and remained a lifelong resident. The South Park Heritage Museum Records is a composite collection of historical material compiled by the South Park community in Beaumont that documents its school district's heritage. The collection includes a vareity of materials including yearbooks, scrapbooks, programs, photographs, newsletters, reunion programs, film, and other memorabilia that encompasses the history of the school district, with an emphasis on the history of South Park High School.
