This collection consists of materials belonging to Janice Zahn Adams in her teenage and young adult life. The first half of the collection is primarily programs, correspondence, and South Park High School memorabilia from the mid- to late-1950s. Additionally, there are business records belonging to her family's South Park Jewelry Business, along with financial ledgers dating back to the 1930s.

Biographical / Historical

Janice Zahn was born in 1936 to Henry and Myrtle Zahn, who owned the South Park Jewlery Store. She was a student at South Park High School and graduated in 1954. She went on to attend Lamar Tech and graduated in 1958. While in school, she was a junior member of the American Red Cross. She also attended Washington Boulevard Christian Church. Her interests included geneology, which is reflected in this collection.

Abstract

Janice Zahn was born in 1936 to Henry and Myrtle Zahn, who were the owners of the South Park Jewlery Store. She was a student at South Park High School and graduated in 1954. Afterwards, she went on to attend Lamar Tech and graduated in 1958. While in school, she was a junior member of the American Red Cross. She also attended Washington Boulevard Christian Church. Her interests included geneology, which is reflected in this collection. There are also included: programs, invitations, souvenirs, and photographs from her young adult social life. This collection would be of interest to anyone interested in South Park High School or social life in the 1950s.
