Much of the collection features photographs and reference materials belonging to Ted Powers, Jr. related to his architectural and historic preservation work.

Biographical Note

Ted "Dillon" Powers (1940-2011) was a graduate of Beaumont High School and Lamar University, and later a resident of Austin, Texas. He worked for the Texas Department of Transportation, as well as the National Trust for Historic Preservation. He also was Coordinator of the Texas Historical Commission. Outside of his professional achievements, he was also involved in many civic organizations in Beaumont. Organizations included Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity, Little Theater, and First Christian Church. He was an avid traveler and had a great interest in photography and historic building preservation.
