This collection consists of Ted Moor, Jr.'s genealogical and historical research. He kept notebooks of his research, with materials including pedigree charts, genealogical histories, copies of publications, newspaper clippings, photographs, and other research notes. The collection primarily features the Moor, Ligon, and Millard families, along with other families and descendants. The bulk of the genealogical research was conducted in the years between 1987 and 2015.

Biographical Note

Theodric E. "Ted" Moor, Jr. (1932-2015) was an insurance agent in Beaumont, Texas who spent his career expanding the insurance business which was co-founded by his father, Theodric E. Moor, Sr. He later purchased the Amarillo Gold Sox baseball team and relocated them to Beaumont in 1982, changing the name to the Golden Gators. He was active in the Beaumont community, serving on the Board of Regents of Lamar University, the vestry of St. Mark's church, and boards of the YMCA and St. Elizabeth's Hopsital. He also helped bring the Texas Energy Museum to Beaumont and served as vice president of the board beginning in 1988.
