Joseph Bryan Morris (1892-1982) was born in Hamilton, Texas and moved to Beaumont in 1917 after graduating from the University of Texas. He worked as a lawyer in Beaumont, most notably as an attorney for the Beaumont and South Park School Districts, as well as the Port of Beaumont and South Park Junior College (precursor to Lamar College of Technology, and later, Lamar University).
